The water curtain dust collector is a wet dust collection device that uses a continuous water film or water curtain to capture paint mist, oil mist, dust and fine particulates from industrial exhaust air. Contaminated air is drawn through the equipment by an exhaust fan. As the airflow passes the water curtain plate or water film surface, dust and sticky particles impact the water layer and are captured. The water curtain is formed by a controlled water flow over a stainless steel curtain plate or through a spray and water film section. Paint mist and dust particles collide with the water film and are captured. Captured pollutants settle into the water tank, while purified air passes through a demister or drift eliminator to reduce water droplet carryover. The circulation system can be equipped with filtration, oil separation, sludge removal and level control options.

For high paint mist loads, the water curtain section can be combined with additional spray stages, baffle plates or water separation zones to improve capture efficiency and reduce maintenance frequency.
