Electrolytic Aluminum Dust Collector

The electrolytic aluminum dust collector is a wet electrostatic precipitator designed for flue gas purification in aluminum electrolysis plants. It combines filtration with adsorption purification to treat alumina dust and fluoride compounds in electrolytic aluminum flue gas. Based on process requirements and dust characteristics, the system retains the advantages of pulse cleaning and adopts online cleaning, so that the filter bags can maintain a stable dust layer. The retained dust layer further adsorbs fluoride compounds, helping reduce fluoride emissions and meet the special requirements of aluminum electrolysis flue gas treatment.

Working Principle

The system uses alumina, the raw material for aluminum electrolysis, as the adsorbent, and hydrogen fluoride in the flue gas as the adsorbate. Under controlled conditions, including solid-gas ratio, reaction time and flue gas velocity, alumina mixes with hydrogen fluoride and achieves efficient adsorption within a short time.

The process adopts a reverse two-stage dry adsorption mechanism. Fluoride-loaded alumina with relatively lower activity first contacts the initial high-fluoride flue gas, and then fresh alumina with higher activity performs secondary adsorption on the remaining hydrogen fluoride. This design improves overall fluoride purification efficiency.

By optimizing the dry adsorption mechanism, the system can achieve high fluoride purification efficiency at a lower solid-gas ratio. This reduces alumina circulation frequency, lowers alumina breakage, limits the introduction of Fe and Si impurities, and reduces power consumption of the aluminum electrolysis flue gas purification system.
