    Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP)

    Product Overview

A Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP) is a high-efficiency terminal purification system designed to remove fine particulate matter, PM2.5, acid mist, water droplets, aerosols, and other condensable pollutants from wet industrial flue gas. It is typically installed downstream of bag filters, spray towers, scrubbers, or desulfurization systems, serving as a final polishing stage to help clients further reduce particulate emissions and improve flue gas clarity.

The equipment operates by combining high-voltage electrostatic adsorption with wet flushing. As flue gas enters the high-voltage electric field, fine particles and mist droplets become charged and are adsorbed onto the collecting electrode surface, where they are subsequently washed away by circulating water. Unlike dry electrostatic precipitators, the WESP uses a water film or spray cleaning method to avoid secondary dust caused by mechanical rapping, making it particularly suitable for high-humidity, corrosive, and sticky flue gas conditions.

    How It Works

    • Gas Ionization & Particle Charging: High-voltage DC power creates a strong electric field between the anode tubes/plates and cathode wires, causing gas ionization and corona discharge.

    • Fine Particle & Mist Collection: PM2.5, acid mist, droplets, aerosols, and dust particles in the flue gas become charged and migrate towards the collecting electrode under the influence of the electric field force, where they are captured.

    • Wet Flushing Cleaning: The flushing system forms a continuous water film on the anode surface, washing captured pollutants into the bottom sump to prevent ash accumulation and secondary dust.

    • Terminal Deep Purification: When arranged after bag filters, sprays, scrubbers, or desulfurization systems, the WESP further removes residual fine particles, mist droplets, and aerosols, enhancing the overall flue gas purification effect.

    Key Features

    • High Efficiency for Fine Particles: Effectively captures PM2.5, submicron particles, acid mist, droplets, and aerosols.

    • No Secondary Dust Emission: Uses wet flushing instead of mechanical rapping, ensuring more stable operation and cleaner outlet flue gas.

    • Adaptability to High-Humidity & Corrosive Gas: Ideal for deep purification of flue gas after desulfurization, scrubbing, or in high-humidity conditions.

    • Stainless Steel Anode Modules: Anode tubes, shells, and internal components can be manufactured from stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials tailored to flue gas composition.

    • Flexible Structural Layout: Available in vertical or horizontal configurations with circular or square shells, facilitating integration with existing dust removal and desulfurization systems.

    • Engineering Customization: Custom-designed based on actual air volume, temperature, humidity, dust load, installation space, and emission requirements.

    Typical Applications

    • Terminal deep purification for boiler flue gas

    • Treatment of sintering, roasting, and process exhaust in steel and metallurgical plants

    • Purification of acid mist, alkali mist, and aerosols in chemical plants

    • Fine treatment of flue gas in waste incineration and hazardous waste incineration plants

    • Flue gas treatment for industrial kilns (lime kilns, ceramic kilns, brick kilns, carbon plants)

    • Purification of exhaust from textile setting machines, drying, and heat setting processes

    • Terminal purification after bag filters, spray towers, scrubbers, or desulfurization systems

    • Control of PM2.5, acid mist, droplets, aerosols, and visible plumes
